Article I: Name The name of this
organization shall be "Jubilate Deo! : Goucher College Article II: Purpose A. Preamble: Created for the Glory of God the Father, through the salvation of the Son, and in the Power of the Holy Spirit, through the intercession of Mary, ever Virgin Mother of God, and all the angels and saints. Jubilate Deo! : Goucher College Catholics, united with the teaching of the Pope and the Magesterium of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church to attend to the needs of the Roman Catholics and all people of good will on the campus of Goucher College. B. Goals: 1. To answer the Lord's call to bring His presence fully to Goucher College so as to provide for an organized community of faith for Goucher College's Catholic believers. 2. To cultivate a ministry for shared experiences of worship, prayer, friendship, fellowship, and fun within the traditions of the Roman Catholic Church. 3. To present opportunities for in depth study, discovery, discussion, and growth within the rich tradition of Catholic faith. 4. To introduce a "Goucher Hour" for the community to gather together in heart-felt prayer at Immaculate Conception Church in Towson for adoration in front of Jesus, truly present, in the Blessed Sacrament. This hour will grant a consistent weekly time for silence to reflect upon the week, grow closer to the Lord, and especially, to pray for the Goucher community. 5. For the nourishment of Roman Catholic students, faculty, and staff at Goucher College by coming together for Catholic-centered traditions and faith-filled activities such as: celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the sacrament of confession, eucharistic adoration, the rosary and other powerful prayers, community service, singing and playing of Christian music, and participation in other meaningful activities and events such as retreats (all to be determined by those involved). 6. To advocate social justice, promote human dignity, and take a stance in advancing universal and necessary rights, such as care for all, especially the needy (the sick, homeless, hungry, tired, hurt, lonely etc.) To enthusiastically attempt not only to uphold the ideals of the Gospel, but also, steadfastly embrace the Word and clothe ourselves in the truth of the Good News by actively living out that which Jesus taught and we profess to believe. 7. To supply a safe-haven for Catholics to raise their voices and provide an amiable and non-threatening environment for the Goucher community of all backgrounds to engage in campus wide discussion and promote the discovery, learning, understanding, and tolerance of others for which Goucher College is recognized. 8. To unceasingly promote the value of human life from the moment of Conception until the moment of natural death, but likewise, provide a comfortable atmosphere in which to confront, address, and grapple with these and other ethical and moral issues facing today's society. 9. To work together for individual and collective growth in the virtues of Faith, Hope, and Charity and be true to our organization's name and "Shout with joy to the Lord," as in, "Jubilate Deo!" Article III: Club Leadership - All officers must uphold the mission and purpose of this organization. A. President 1. Maintain the truths of the Catholic Faith and represent the Church as faithful follower to the teachings of Rome. 2.
Be actively involved in pursuing the well being of the Catholics on 3. Reach out for energetic involvement and participation from others. 4. Be prepared to delegate responsibilities to other members within their capacity to assist. 5. Hold the organization together by the grace of God. B. Vice President 1. Assist the President when necessary. 2. Be as involved as possible in planning and organizing activities. 3. Preserve enthusiasm and fire for the faith in all involved to the best of his/her degree. 4. Be prepared to perform the duties of the President in his/her absence. C. Treasurer 1. Take responsibility for all the organization's financial transactions. 2. Record any financial information. 3. Work towards the goal of establishing close relationships between members. 4. Help foster an extremely warm, friendly, and welcoming environment for not only Goucher Catholics, but the entire Goucher community. D. Secretary 1. Keep records of meeting times and activities. 2.

Do his/her best to be dynamically involved so as to be aware of the needs Article IV: Membership All who respect Catholics
and the Catholic Faith are welcome to join Jubilate Deo! : Goucher College
Catholics. There should be no attitudes, actions, and/or comments of
disrespect or harassment towards the Catholic Church or any other religious
or non-religious group. Article V: Meetings Specific meeting times are yet to be determined but depend upon the schedules of the students and priest(s). |
